Today is the 73rd Republic Day. Despite some cuts to the Republic Day celebrations over the past two years in the Covid situation. A colorful parade has been organized on the highways of Delhi again. In the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay his respects at the National War Memorial. He will then join the Republic Day celebrations on the streets. President Ramnath Kobind will be present on the occasion.
After hoisting the national flag, the President will posthumously hand over the honor to Ashok Chakra, wife of ASI Babu Ram of Jammu and Kashmir Police. Four Air Force helicopters will then fly the national flag on behalf of the three forces. The Indian Air Force will take part in the flypast after the parade on the highway.
The capital Delhi is also under police protection. Delhi has been declared a ‘no-fly zone’. Double dose covid vaccine has been made mandatory for highway visitors. Delhi Police has deployed more than 20,000 troops including DCP, ACP, Delhi Police Commando and CAPF Commando.
“Measures have been taken for the last two months to curb militant activity as Delhi has always been the target. We are on high alert this year as well. More than 20,000 troops have been deployed including DCP, ACP, Delhi Police Commando, CAPF Commando.” Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said this on Sunday.
No-Fly Zone The national capital has been declared a no-fly zone. Drones, UAVs and hot air balloons are prohibited. An anti-drone team has also been deployed to test any flying objects in the air. The Delhi Police has also issued guidelines for those attending the event on the highway.

The seating blocks opened at 8 a.m. and visitors were advised to come accordingly. All visitors must have two doses of the vaccine and bring a vaccine certificate with them. Children under the age of 15 are not allowed on the venue.
